About the Event

A 3-hour poetry experience that explores our relationships to each other and our connection to Mother Earth. Imagine creating art from conversation. Please join collaborating artists, James Pakootas, a poet from the Colville Confederated Tribes, and multidisciplinary artist, Amber Santos (German, Métis, Anishinaabe), as they hold space for new art to happen.

Activities: listening session followed by a conversation exercise where attendees will reflect on an art piece presented by Amber Santos. Attendees will then have an opportunity to write poetry based on the art and our shared conversation.

Together, we will allow others into our creative process by trying to see Amber's work through each other's eyes while still keeping creative control over our own ideas. In turn, this will inform new thoughts and writings when approaching our own poetry practice.
